What is CSR?
Common Ground in definitions:

  • Per “Communication from the Commission of the European Communities” issued on July 2, 2002;CSR is a concept whereby companies integrate social and environmental concerns in their business operations and in their interaction with their stakeholders on a voluntary basis
  • Per BSR (Business for Social Responsibility): Achieving commercial success in ways that honor ethical values and respect people, communities, and the natural environment & To be accountable for these results, efforts and issues
  • cf. “Sanpouyoshi (Urite-yoshi, Kaite-yoshi, and Syakai-yoshi)” in Japan
