Rationale:
Supported by National Science Council (NSC), Youth Knowledge Network, Taiwan (YKN) has worked with National Center for High-Performance Computing (NCHC) as a Science Volunteer Team to develop Asia Student Exchange Program (ASEP) since 2006. This program is based on Cyber-Real-Cyber Model, which has enhanced the communications, both virtually and physically, in mutual understanding the culture to achieve the ideal of globalism - balance between globalization and localization.
On December 23 to 27, 2007, the first ASEP face-to-face annual meeting (Figure 2) was held. Global partners, who are from Korea and Malaysia (Figure 3), are invited to visit Taiwan and get a chance to see Taiwan’s aboriginal culture (Figure 4). Especially, ASEP has merged into volunteer services, which empowers the volunteer team and enable them to “learn by doing.”
The physical visit to Taiwan in ASEP will connect even more schools and form a little league. It is hoped that a platform and resource center will be established for the on-going communications.
Objectives:
1. To invite Asian students to communicate aspects of their culture with those from still other country and prepare for the future cyber culture festivals through the Internet.
2. To invite partners to Taiwan and deepen the knowledge of the global schools, so that sister school relationship can be developed gradually.
3. To promote the “International Week of World Games” among all levels of schools and show the enthusiasm of promoting global learning.
Organizations and Schools Involved:
1. Directed by National Science Council
2. Organized by Zonta District 31, Science Volunteer of National Science Council, and Youth Knowledge Network, Taiwan

Evaluation:
1. Enhance the effect of “Cyber-Real-Cyber Model.”
2. Students dig into the local culture and find out more about the values of preserving cultures.
