The 1st European : Youth Work Convention, Belgium

Under the Belgium EU Presidency, last July, more than 400 youth workers, researchers and youth policy makers gathered in the1st European Youth Work Convention, in Ghent, Belgium, to reflect on and debate the future of youth work, with emphasis on cooperation and knowledge sharing in the sector.
The convention announced its conclusions from this event in an official declaration. Among the conclusions were the need for more cooperation between youth workers, policy makers and other sectors as well as more knowledge-sharing and cooperation between the youth workers themselves. To ensure more effective knowledge-sharing, the declaration includes the need to support mobility and the networking of youth workers at an international level.
