Action plan for the International Office for IAVE Youth in Catalonia (IYOC) Oct 2007-Dec 2010

Communication Plan
- To communicate the objectives and activities of the IO to its main target group: IAVE member organisations, and to collect their needs and expectations related to the running of the office, together with their experiences and expertise.

Expected result is a collection, analysis and report of their needs, expectations, experiences and expertise to set up future actions.

- To explain the IO to its secondary target group: volunteer organisations from all over the world, individuals (like experts and stake holders) and institutions with a role to play in the achievement of IO’s objectives.

Expected result is to elaborate a data base of the target group with a clear definition of different functions and interests.

Some of the foreseen actions of the Communication plan are:
- Presentation of the IO at local, regional and national  level (in Barcelona, in October 2007).
- Presentation of the IO at European level (in Brussels, in October or November 2007).
- Presentation of the IO during the IAVE Asia Regional Conference (in Nagoya, December 2007).
- Presentation of the IO at international level in the opening of the World Youth Volunteering Conference (in Panamá city , in April 2008).
- Participation in other relevant events.
- Edition and distribution of informative materials in various formats (like brochures).
- Establishment of a data base of the target group.
- Establishment of the web page

IO IYC will  develop an dynamic, attractive and content-wise web page with updated information, practical tools and on-line resources where everyone could find volunteer opportunities, meet each other and share information, experience and resources about youth volunteering actions. Web page will collect and centralize information and resources on youth volunteering,  will inform about youth initiatives,projects and other activities in the youth volunteer field.

IAVE YOUTH web page will be divided in sections by world regions and by volunteer activity field (social ,cultural, environmental,sportive).

Expected result is to become a reference point for youth volunteering world wide.

 Creation of a Youth Section in the e-IAVE electronic newsletter. With information about youth volunteer projects, programmes, organisations, newtworking opportunities, global youth networks, campaigns, resources, techniques, articles,good experiences and practices,etc.

Together with the Communication plan, to achieve IO IYC objectives we thought necessary to implement an Action Plan, oriented to the realization of various events and projects, led by IAVE; by IAVE member organisations and by the IO IYC itself.

1) Technical Support for the realization of IAVE World Volunteer Youth Conferences.
· IAVE World Youth Conference (in Panama, April 2008).
· IAVE Youth Conference ( in 2010).
· Event/ IAVE World Youth Conference celebrating 10 years of IAVE YOUTH ( in 2010).

2) Technical Support for the realisation of projects led by IAVE member organisations on specific topics related by youth volunteering, at national and trans-national level.

For the realisation of youth conferences, youth forums, youth seminars, training courses, global volunteer actions and campaigns.

Technical support will be concertized according to the needs and requests of the organisers/promoters and the available resources, on a case by case study for each single project or event.

The IO IYC can assume a variety of tasks on preparation, realisation and evaluation, giving advice and counseling; sharing information, giving methodological support and building new partnerships and contacts among organisations and with public and private institutions and stakeholders.

The IO, with the support of IAVE members and its pool of experts worldwide, will do a wide range of specific  tasks: to study project’s feasibility, to offer fundraising opportunities,etc, with the view of supporting to improve the quality, value, visibility and impact of each single event, and collecting and multiplying its results.

For example, for the realisation of the next IAVE World Youth Conference its support can be to inform to a wider audience, to manage participant’s inscription and selection procedures, to collect expectations, to offer scholarships,to collect and to spread Conference results, to make the following-up, etc.

3) Realisation of IO IYC’s projects and activities, led by the Office in cooperation with IAVE, GCVC and other institutions, like the European Commission, UN Volunteers, Council of Europe,Governments, etc.

Expected results are the setting-up of youth volunteer trans-national programs, international partnership building or thematic seminars, regional training courses and conferences, answering the needs of organisations.
