Australian National Youth Week

IAVE Youth Office

"Live it Now"

National Youth Week (NYW) is the largest celebration of young people in Australia. This year it will be held from 10 to 18 April together with a number of events taking place all over the country. The topic for the year 2010 is "Live it Now".

NYW aims to encourage young people from 12 to 25 years old to celebrate their contribution to the community, share ideas, attend events, have their voices heard concerning issues and show their talents in National Talent Competitions. Australian youth can be involved by organising an event, such as community projects, conferences, debates, exhibitions, festivals, sporting activities, and last, but not least, to have fun!

Next to young people there will be representatives from community and youth organisations, Governments, sponsors and the Australian community as a whole.

NYW is a joint Australian Government, State, Territory and Local Government initiative, coordinated by the Australian Government's Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations, in collaboration with the departments responsible for youth affairs in each State and Territory.
