Cameroun Report

IAVE IRC

We are getting again in touch with you, after the long silence between CATIBA and IAVE since 2000, resulting from the death of Mr Joseph Ngatchi, founder president of  the National Volunteer Centre of Cameroun for Progress.

It has not been easy for us to start again the association since it is fairly difficult to continue some work initiated by somebody else: sometimes the temptation is great to face all sorts of difficulties . However after having struggled during seven years, we are at last on the good way and follow without difficulty the road that our founder and husband Mr Joseph Ngatchi (God bless him) has drawn for us.

On the occasion of the IAVE Conference in Canada in 1998, Mr Joseph Ngatchi has been named national reps for Cameroun (from June 1999 to December 2001) and a member of IAVE board. After his death (18march 2000), his widow has been elected President of the board of the National Volunteer Centre of Cameroun/CATIBA.

The name of the association has changed.  Instead of National Volunteer Center of Cameroun for Progress (cnvcp) , we are now CNVC/CATIBA: National  Volunteer Center of Cameroun/ Center of the Friends of Technology and Initiation to Arts.  Members of the board of directors are:

1.President:Colette Ngatchi (Veterinary)
2.Vice-president : Mesmer Ganou (Electrician)
3.General secretary: Armand Kell (Carpenter)
4.Associated Secretary: Gilbert Ewehmeh ( Biologist)
5.Treasurer: Florence Megne (Dietetician)
6.Financial controller in charge of public relations :Luicionni Songgfack (Mechanic)
7.Youth president: Vogmo Sergeo Tresor Ngatchi (a student)
8.Counsellors:Guy Nguefack (Urbanist), Jean-Claude Dongmo (Economist)
