Ecuador report by IAVE-Ecuador June 2007

IAVE - Ecuador as member of Ecuador’s Volunteer Table (established in October/2004) in answer to a planning displayed by the United Nations Volunteers Program, who since then acted as coordinator.

Achievements:
1) .- Start a project of an actualized data base of Volunteers around the country, also a detailed investigation of these Volunteer groups and locate in the different Volunteer areas.
2) .- Participation of the EVT in the Legal Commission, to elaborate the Ecuador’s Volunteer Law. This process has been under an intense work.
3) .- Readiness of the pre-project for IVD:

In Quito:
- Volunteers Institutions Fair
- Parade of IVD on Quito’s Foundation festivities
- Edition of Volunteer’s supplement
- Volunteers Forum
- Volunteers fair

FETV: Ecuadorian Federation in Volunteer Work
- Involve in the National Net of Volunteers
- Co-partnership with an intervention in National Assembly of the EFVW
- IAVE works in the reinforcement of the Coordination Agencies in provinces
and also the creation in those there are not organized yet.

IAVE promote the Global Youth Service Day
Actions:
- April 20,  2nd Meeting of Youth Volunteers in Guayaquil, organized by SIGVOL with support from UNV
- Proposal of strategies in order to organized the National Youth Volunteers
Outcomes:
- 56 participants of 15 Youth Volunteers Organizations
- Forum: Volunteering as an important developing factor
- Definitions of specific objectives of Youth Volunteer Organizations
- Strategies to figurate in the Net
- Strategies of action: Fair of Youth Volunteering, in order to visualize in
the community the work of such Organizations
- Long walk of the 10 Youth Volunteer Organizations

Co-partnership in the Committee of Civic Control, in the Corruption check, in the Citizen Formation area, with the following objectives: Promotion, training in citizen formation, ethic values, and fruition of a culture of honesty.
