Highlights from the 9th IANYS Global Conference in Alexandria, Egypt
Last October 25th-27th, the International Association for National Youth Services-IANYS held it's annual conference to support and inspire harnessing the power of young people to serve and improve their societies.
Some of its higlights were when during the opening ceremony, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton addressed the delegates in a video message you can view here and when Donald Eberly, Founder and Honorary President of IANYS received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his dedication, vision and skill in supporting national youth service throughout the world.
Another relevant event was the release of a new publication by Innovations in Civic Participation-ICP, entitled "Youth Civic Participation in Action: Meeting Community and Youth Development Needs", which highlights the growing momentum for youth civic participation worldwide. This publication is available online here in both a full version and on an interactive website, which will be periodically updated with news and other information provided by ICP partners.
Though the IANYS 9th Global Conference has concluded, there are still opportunities to participate in important discussions on the development of national youth service worldwide on the conference website, where you will find session briefings, video conversations between participants and speakers and much more.
