i-volunteer Service Learning Memorandum of Understanding between IAVE-Taiwan, NKFUST and IAVE IRC
Party A: International Association for Volunteer Effort -Taiwan (IAVE Taiwan)
Party B: National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology (NKFUST)
Party C: IAVE International Resource Center (IAVE IRC)
Purpose
To promote service learning, encourage youth participation in international volunteering and build the capacity of young people to create a caring multicultural society, the three parties make this memorandum of understanding to prove the content of the cooperation agreed to.
Cooperation Content
a) Party B (NKFUST) shall provide students with English translation ability to help Parties A (IAVE Taiwan) and C (IAVE IRC) to assist with Bilingual translations for the websites of IAVE Taiwan (www.iavetaiwan.org) and IAVE (www.iave.org). (For details concerning the service see the accompanying document.) Party A and C shall indicate on their respective homepages of the Chinese version that Party B provides translation services.
b) Through this i-volunteer program, Party A and C shall give priority to Party B and offer service learning opportunities to Party B first. Party B may select and send qualified students to participate in language volunteer service projects for major events (conferences, exhibitions, contests, etc.) organized or co-organized by Party A or C in Taiwan or overseas. The students shall act as receptionists, interpreters, and in publicity or other related works.
c) Parties A and C shall provide Party B internships and training opportunities every year.
d) Party A is responsible for accrediting Party B with service learning hours and for issuing international volunteer certificates.
If this agreement does not give adequate details as to the cooperative content, the chairs of Parties A, B, and C shall meet and negotiate to resolve any conflict or in order to make a new agreement.
Contract Period
This agreement shall run from September 28, 2007 to September 27, 2010. Three months prior to the end of the agreement three parties may substitute an amended document to extend the agreement.
