IAVE 21st World Volunteer Conference Workshop 114: Maximising the Power of One: The Aggregation Strategy

IAVE IRC

The focus of this workshop will be on "little drops of water a mighty ocean make," with the exhortation that sweating the small stuff does make sense when we talk about resource mobilization for NPOs. It speaks to the underestimated value of acquiring micro/retail level donors, whether of money, time or in kind, but cleverly using wholesale methods for the multiplier effect.

Isabel Kelly of Salesforce.com will present a convincing account of how they have been able to impact society with their approach to getting people, company employees and partners to donate but 1% of their time, talent and treasures. Cecilia Tan of the Singapore Red Cross will showcase their hugely successful blood donation programme targeting individual donors through "blood mobile organizations" like schools and companies.

Participants will come away with an appreciation of the value of looking for individual donors - whether of blood, cash, or time which aggregated together, become the programme's lifeline.
