IAVE 21st World Volunteer Conference Workshop 222: Voices for Causes
Promoting and supporting causes require organizations to be open to new modes of communication and activism; CRM can be an effective fundraising method when its nuances are understood; youth volunteers can be a powerful source of ideas and sustainable growth for NPOs. In the perpetually changing world of volunteerism and philanthropy, promoting and sustaining causes requires volunteer organizations to be ever-open to new modes of communication and activism. This workshop looks at several ways in which emerging strategies can be used to effectively give voice to a range of different social causes, examing both the complexities and potential benefits of employing these tools within volunteer organizations. The workshop will focus on two main case studies: how careful use of Cause-Related Marketing can powerfully boost fundraising efforts; and how youth volunteers provide valuable grassroots support and potential for the future growth of organizations.
