IAVE European Regional Volunteer Conference, Prague, Czech Republic

This conference, which took place in Prague on 16 May 2009, brought together diverse members of IAVE, as well as the world president, Dr. Kang Hyun Lee, who explained about IAVE and some of its initiatives, campaigns and actions that are being carried out. IAVE Director in Europe Colette Robert and the Director of the Global Corporate Volunteer Council Sarah Hayes presented IAVE and the GCVC while the Director of the IAVE Youth Office in Catalonia (IYOC), Lluc Martí, explained the mission of the office. Among its commitments, Martí emphasized the action of its team to promote the development of volunteerism among youth, as well as to give them voice in expressing their thoughts and ideas on youth volunteering. Relating to the communication among young people and between the volunteers and the organizations, he assumed the creation of new resources and virtual tools that serve to promote a greater exchange of information.
