Impact of the Volunteer Centre Network Scotland April 2006-March 2007

Volunteering cuts across social boundaries and affects some of the poorest nad most disadvantaged poeple, it is often the means for them to become active citizens and become involved in their communities.

This 13 page publication presents the work of Volunteer Centres in a network with over 10,000 volunteer involving organisations from small grassroots community groups to large national voluntary organisations.

A quartr of the people who use Volunteer Centres are on incapacity benefit, job seekers allowance or income support.

Volunteer Centres have involved nearly 10,000 young people in awareness raising activities about volunteering in the last year.
