Introducing Anna from Ukraine, new volunteer in the IYOC
“My nature is to want to help people”, says Anna Ptashka. “I am 21 years old and I am from Donetsk, a wonderful city in the center of Donbass, a industrial region in the Eastern part of Ukraine”. She recently got her master’s degree from the Donetsk National University, at the faculty of foreign languages. While studying she worked at the school teaching English and Spanish, enjoying working with children best.
Anna decided to volunteer in the IYOC for many reasons. She likes getting to know new people and will have plenty of opportunities for that in the IYOC as well as in Barcelona. She speaks five languages and will be helping to improve the IYOC collaboration with young people and organizations from Russian-speaking countries and translate news and resources in different languages for more people to have access to them “Young people in Ukraine do not have as many opportunities to volunteer, and I want to change that”, she says. We do too! She will be here for an entire year and in that time, besides to make new friends, she hopes to be a valuable member of the organization, improve her language skills and learn as much as she can.
The entire team at the IYOC is very happy to have her here!
