Registration for the 1st IAVE Arab Nations Regional Volunteer Conference is now open!
We are very pleased with the interest of people who received the information about the rescheduling of the conference for March 27-29 at UNESCO Palace in Beirut. We have already received presentation proposals and/or interest in attending from Oman, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the UAE, Syria, and Jordan, as well as Lebanon. We look forward to this being a truly regional conference. The deadline for proposing presentations is March 4th. Registration is now open and information is available about conference fees and hotel accommodations. We have limited funds for partial scholarships available to delegates from poorer countries of the region that will be distributed to those who demonstrate the greatest commitment to improving volunteerism in their own countries and/or the Arab region.
We encourage you to register by March 12th to benefit from lower registration fees, to assure your place at the conference dinner and for the conference trips, and to be sure that we have materials ready for you at the conference. We have arranged for special hotel fees at the beautiful Riviera Hotel where the conference dinner will be held, but space is limited and rooms will be blocked for the conference only until March 15th. Youth participating in the Youth Forum and scholarship delegates will be staying at a separate hotel.
The program for the Corporate Volunteer Forum is now available online. We encourage companies to send representatives to the Forum to learn how to establish a corporate volunteer program or improve an existing one. The Corporate Volunteer Forum will be in English only.
This will be a “Green” conference, and we invite you to see the ways in which we will try to make it as environmentally friendly as possible.
We also invite organizations and companies to become conference sponsors to expand the funds available for scholarships.
We hope that you will encourage others who promote volunteering to also participate in this conference so that it can have the greatest impact possible on volunteering in the region in celebration of the International Year of Volunteers + 10.
