Sее Youth in Action for the European Year of Volunteering 2011

South East European Youth Network-SEEYN, a youth-led organization based in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, with 15 member organizations in every country in the Balkan region, is currently implementing a yearlong project to promote volunteering on a local and regional level, preparing the ground for more actions to come in the European Year of Volunteers 2011. The celebration is an opportunity to increase the promotion, support and recognition of volunteering, especially among young people.
Project SEE YOUth in Action for the EYV 2011 has the support of the Youth in Action Programme of the European Commission in collaboration with other 11 promoter organizations: youth organizations and cultural, educational and volunteer centers from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Bulgaria, Slovenia and Europe.
The program includes a variety of initiatives, actions and events: a promotional campaign targeting youth; a lobbying campaign for introducing volunteering bills, the development of online databases for volunteer recruitment and new online tools on volunteering as well as NGO fairs and trainings.
SEEYN also plans to organize simultaneous actions in all South Eastern European countries on December 4th and 5th to celebrate the International Day of the Volunteer.
