Senior Forum: Older Volunteers as a Global Resource for Problem Solving

IAVE IRC

The senior forum will focus on a variety of successful initiatives that have sought to recruit an increasingly aging population around the world to harness their improved health and educational status as they move into their retirement years.  Examples of federal level and international demonstration projects funded by a variety of US, UK and EU organizations will be profiled.  Additional programs in Peru, Denmark, Canada, and Germany are featured.  The presentations mix program level information with broader research goals and findings that can guide the development of public policy.  The closing segment of the forum will focus on the possibilities of developing joint research and program building initiatives to expand the existing models into Africa, Middle East, Asian and Australian markets.  A strategic plan for moving forward with joint activities will be produced.
