THE UNITED NATIONS FUND FOR DEMOCRACY INVITES CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATIONS TO APPLY FOR FUNDS
The United Nations Fund for Democracy (UNFD) invites civil society organizations to submit funding proposals for projects and initiatives dedicated to strengthening democracy. The projects should be focused on promoting human rights and aimed at encouraging the participation of all groups in the processes of democratic transition and consolidation. Projects being eligible for support are those considering some of the following issues: community development, rule of law and human rights, tools for democratization, women, youth and media.
The Fund provides up to 500,000 USD for each project. In the four previous investments, the UNFD has granted 93 million USD in financial aid for more than 330 projects implemented by civil society organizations in 115 countries, and offers all kinds of information about the projects supported in previous years.
The online form is available in English and French and you can easily apply and find all necessary information concerning the requirements and criteria. We suggest you to read it carefully considering that only three percent of applications were selected for funding in previous rounds.
The deadline for submitting applications is December 31, 2010.
