UNV wants world's best volunteer stories!
As the focal point organization for the International Year of Volunteers +10, UNV is planning several communications activities. One of these is a multimedia photographic and video exhibition for the lobby of UN Headquarters in New York. This will take place in December, but UNV has to gather all the materials by May.
Therefore, if your organizations and constituent bodies have existing professional-quality photos and videos of volunteering in action that you are willing to share, UNV would really love to see them!
Most of all, UNV would like high-resolution materials in common formats that show the impact that volunteers can bring to peace and development. UNV is looking for images and films that demonstrate the difference people can make, that make viewers think again about what volunteering means. Ideally they would be recent (from the last five years) and in colour.
In addition, UNV is also on the lookout for great stories of good practices from across the globe – stories that tell the audience about the human side of how volunteering changes lives. The difference volunteering brings to the lives of individual beneficiaries and individual volunteers to whole communities.
If you have ideas, please get in touch with UNV, or alternatively visit the online survey.
The contributing organization will of course be given full credits for anything we do use, and it is a great chance to give volunteers recognition in forums that will be seen by a number of decision-makers as well as the wider public.
