Mr. Daniel Juma Omondi is the Executive Director of the Kenyan chapter of the Global Peace Foundation an international peace organization headquartered in Washington DC. He also serves as the Secretary to the board of the Global Peace Youth Corps Kenya. He hosted the International Young Leaders’ Summit at the UN Gigiri, Nairobi, in 2009 and in 2010 at Kenyatta International Convention Centre, Nairobi. He served as a panelist alongside the US Ambassador to the AU Mr. Michael A. Battle during the African Youth Development Forum (AYDF), held in Addis Ababa Ethiopia.
Daniel worked for the Korean government’s Korea Trade & Investment Promotion Agency for 10 years as a Trade Officer focusing on Market Research. In this capacity, he played a major role in Korea’s economic diplomatic foray into East Africa. He studied International Relations at the University of Nairobi’s Institute of Diplomacy and International Studies and wrote a thesis entitled “Kenya’s Foreign Policy Shift: From Political to Economic Diplomacy” in which he gave policy recommendations that led to the transformation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to what is now the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.
As his way of giving back to society, he sits on the Board of Governors of both Ukwala High School and Yenga Secondary School and also serves as the chair of Ukwala School Old Boys Association, JCI Nairobi Chapter, NGO-I Love Africa, the Young Life Movement, the African Dream Foundation and the Mr. & Miss University-Kenya and Africa 2.0
In 1995, he represented Kenya in the 19th Mr. & Miss University International Pageant held at in Tokyo & won the Friendship Award. On coming back, he established the Mr. & Miss University which is now held in all Kenyan universities. He is also an entrepreneur running a consulting firm Xcell Consultium.

Daniel Juma Omondi will be presenting on the Global Peace Foundation and the GPLC East Africa. He will focus on Zanzibar and the GPLC’s strategic plan for 2015.
