Network Development

A key aspect of IAVE’s mission is to help leaders of volunteering stand in solidarity with one another – sharing experiences, challenges, innovations; collaborating around issues and efforts of common interest; supporting one another.

We do that by developing and managing formal networks of key constituency groups. Based on our key strategic priorities, these are:

The Global Corporate Volunteer Council (GCVC)

GCVC_Logo_finalFormed in 2006, GCVC offers global companies the opportunity to share, work and learn together. From the original six founding members (UPS, Disney, Samsung, Vale, Citi and Levi Strauss), GCVC now includes over 50 member companies from throughout the world.

The Global Network of National Volunteer Centers (GNNVC)

Final GNNVC LogoGNNVC was created to “enhance volunteering worldwide through harnessing and developing the influence, capacity and leadership of organizations at a national level to promote and support volunteering.” Launched in 2013, it has a growing membership of national volunteer centers from Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America and North America.

The Global Youth Volunteer Network (GYV)

GYV - LogoGYV is intended to offer a way for young people to connect with one another around their common interest in volunteering. Its primary focal points are “Follow Your Passion” to help young people learn about what they can do as volunteers; “Build Your Skills” to develop skills needed for effective volunteering and to use volunteering to develop new person and work-focused skills; and, “Multiply Your Impact” by telling stories of volunteering, inspiring others and creating their own volunteer efforts.

IAVE’s Leadership Network

IAVE-LeadershipIAVE’s Leadership Network is the volunteer backbone of IAVE, providing strategic leadership, membership development and support for implementation of our programs. Our board of directors includes Regional Representatives elected from within their regions and Constituency Representatives, representing global companies, volunteer centers, youth and our National Representatives.

National Representatives help IAVE remain connected to volunteering in their 66 countries, reporting on trends and challenges and recruiting new members.
