- Volunteer Centers
IAVE believes that all sectors need to join together to create strong, visible and effective local and national volunteer centers as the primary leadership organizations for volunteering.
In many countries the infrastructure to promote and support volunteering is well developed while in other countries a small number of often under resourced organizations are working to raise awareness of volunteering and create the appropriate support for their situation. IAVE believes that there is strength in this diversity and therefore is seeking to create a dynamic network of organizations that have the capacity to provide a national focus on volunteering.
These organizations will form the Global Network of National Volunteer Centers (GNNVC).
Enhance volunteering worldwide through harnessing and developing the influence, capacity and leadership of organizations at a national level to promote and support volunteering.
The work of the Global Network will be underpinned by the following values:
Integrity : Members of the Global Network will show respect for each other and celebrate diversity.
Commitment: Members of the Global Network will be visible in promoting the benefits of volunteering and best practice.
Empowerment: Members of the Global Network will share experience, information and learning to enhance the role and work of national volunteer centers.
Leadership: Members of the Global Network will use their knowledge of volunteering to influence strategies and developments at a national and international level.
GNNVC is made possible through the sponsorship of Ford Motor Company and UPS®. We deeply appreciate the active leadership and support of the two companies in creating an enabling environment for volunteering worldwide.
