Youth drug awareness with the Arab and African Youth Council

The Sudanese office of the Arab and African Youth Council hosted an awareness event on the dangers of drugs and its effect on youth and the community. It was hosted in conjunction to the International Day Against Drugs. The Secretary-General of the council, Awad Hassan, said this forum is a confirmation of the role of civil society organizations (CSOs) in raising awareness on the dangers of addiction. He also stated that it is the duty of CSOs to develop programs and activities to keep youth away from drugs. Keeping youth away from drugs can also benefit the society as these young people can contribute community development. Hassan also stated that it is important to establish preventative and rehabilitative programs against drugs into the society.
