Biography

Andronica Mabuya is a senior corporate social impact and sustainability executive with more than 20 years of experience across the public, private, and civil society sectors. She currently serves as Head of Corporate Social Investment at Discovery Limited, a global shared-value insurance group, where she provides strategic oversight of CSI strategy, program design and implementation, outcomes measurement, and stakeholder engagement, along with governance accountability for Discovery’s CSI vehicles. Her work centers on health systems strengthening, skills development, community resilience, and environmental sustainability.

Andronica has been instrumental in advancing public-private collaborations with government, regulators, nonprofits, and private-sector partners, and is known for convening diverse stakeholders around shared objectives to strengthen systems rather than isolated projects — including through her collaboration with IAVE to advance volunteerism-led approaches and cross-border knowledge exchange. Her career began in the public sector with South Africa’s National Department of Education before she moved into banking and development finance, including roles at Standard Bank Group, where she led corporate social investment strategy across five provinces.

She serves as a Trustee on the Board of the Buskaid Trust, an internationally recognized community music education organization established in the UK and South Africa. Andronica holds an MBA and has completed the Advanced Leadership Programme at the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS). Grounded in African development contexts and experienced across sectors, she brings to IAVE’s Board strategic insight, governance expertise, and a deep understanding of how volunteerism, corporate responsibility, and community development can align to deliver lasting impact.
