Biography

Mourad is currently the Director of the newly established Khalid bin Sultan Al Qasimi Humanitarian Foundation – a foundation dedicated to protecting and empowering vulnerable children worldwide.

Previously she was employed by the Emirates Foundation for 16 years. During her time there, she had a variety of opportunities to positively influence the volunteering system by creating local and international volunteering and training programs. She designed systems and templates that were rolled out across all projects and engaged with over 3,000 Emirati and non-Emirati youth who contributed to over 65,000 volunteering and training hours.

Mourad has implemented projects in aid mobilization, construction, the environment, People Of Determination centres, hospitals, and the mental health sector, as well as many national flagship events. She also had the opportunity to deliver sustainable community engagement programs and strategies in volunteer management, social behaviour, and capacity building.  Additionally, for over nine years, and on a voluntary basis, she was a board member for Be Glorious, a social enterprise in Tanzania, which supports women entrepreneurs in achieving community goals.

Previous to her board service, Mourad collaborated with IAVE on a variety of initiatives, including the Global Volunteering Summit, the World Volunteer Conference and the virtual Ideathon, Her strong connections with government bodies, private sector partners, NGOs, and youth networks across the Arab Nations region, allow her to effectively advocate for and promote IAVE’s initiatives, ensuring they resonate with local and regional stakeholders. Her approach is to blend local insights with global best practices, ensuring that IAVE’s initiatives are culturally relevant and impactful.
