A springboard into action

The theme of the 27th World Volunteer Conference is “People Power: Creating a Sustainable Future through Volunteering.” The conference is a shout out to the world’s volunteers, who are essential for meeting the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. We will highlight the impact volunteering is making on climate action, ending poverty, ensuring healthy lives and wellbeing, reducing inequalities, promoting peaceful and inclusive societies, and ensuring quality education and lifelong learning opportunities.

The U.N. recognizes the importance of volunteers for a sustainable future. In December, it announced that 2026 will be the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development. So IAVE’s 27th World Volunteer Conference is also a jump start into action for 2026. People power through volunteering: a vision of hope for a better world. Join us!
