I bring over fifteen years of experience in the international volunteering and civic engagement space, working across nonprofit, public, and grassroots ecosystems. I have designed and led volunteer-driven initiatives in Europe and globally, often at the intersection of innovation, community-building, and systemic change. I specialize in connecting people, ideas, and resources to create impact, and I do so with energy, empathy, and a strong sense of purpose.
I have served on the Meta Regional Committee (advisory board to the Burning Man Project) and on its Volunteer Leadership Council, roles through which I’ve supported community organizers and volunteers globally. I’ve also led programs focused on participation, inclusion, and systems thinking in Europe, often at the intersection of creativity, civic life, and innovation.
One of my strengths is the ability to introduce bold ideas, even when they’re initially misunderstood. As an early advocate for sustainability in the creative sector, I was often dismissed, but I persisted. My work eventually led to structural change, including policy shifts and curriculum updates at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. I believe this kind of visionary, value-driven leadership is crucial for evolving the culture of volunteering today and would be a great fit for the IAVE board.
My experience as a Burning Man Fellow closely mirrors the role of IAVE’s European Representative: connecting communities, supporting local volunteer leaders, and advocating globally. My deep commitment to the Regional Network led the Burning Man Project to establish the fellowship, beginning with me. The program focused on growing a pan-European volunteer network, advising on program design, and elevating the role of civic engagement. This affirmed my passion and strength in ambassadorial roles, especially within multicultural, decentralized networks where connection and trust are essential.
In today’s rapidly changing world, I also bring a forward-thinking perspective and my passion about the future of volunteering in the age of technology. I actively explore how digital tools, data, and artificial intelligence can strengthen volunteer ecosystems and civic life. I see volunteering not only as a key to achieving the SDGs but as a cornerstone of civilizational resilience in the age of AI, in a world where traditional work is being redefined. Volunteering helps people develop and cultivate empathy, gain new skills, stay socially connected, and rediscover the value of human contribution beyond economic productivity.
Finally, I thrive on collaboration, systems thinking, joyful responsibility, and a proactive mindset. I see this role not only as a responsibility but as a meaningful and exciting opportunity to serve something larger than myself. I would be honored to contribute to IAVE’s mission by energizing the European network, building bridges, and advocating for volunteering as a force for positive and sustainable transformation.
