There is no question that we are living in a challenging world. Globally, we’ve seen a rise in authoritarian systems, increased threats from human-induced climate change, and the onset of new challenges such as AI and the uncertain future of work whose impacts we have yet to even fully understand.
Yet, within this, volunteering remains one of the most promising solutions to weaving common understanding, building community resiliency, and overcoming the differences that separate us.
Therefore, it is with particular excitement that we kick off our election for our next European board representative. The person who takes this role will step in to the seat ably fulfilled for the last five years by Wolfgang Krell. As Wolfgang steps away, we invite you to consider taking on this role and continuing the work of building the recognition and investment volunteering needs in the European region and across the globe.
Please read these materials carefully, and if they speak to you, and if the mission of IAVE speaks to you, I hope you will consider submitting your application. We are looking for many things within this role, but overall, we hope you will be committed to volunteering as a powerful vehicle for change within the region and beyond.
In solidarity,
